The United Nations Climate Conference in Glasgow, which ended in November 2021, completed the negotiation of the implementation rules of the Paris Agreement, reached a relatively balanced political outcome document "Glasgow Climate Agreement" and more than 50 resolutions, two-thirds of the world's economies proposed carbon neutrality goals, and international financial institutions joined climate action, greatly stimulating carbon reduction actions and carbon markets. The UK is the first country in the global economy to legislate net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. China has also successively put forward climate goals of carbon peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060, and has fully started low-carbon development in various social and economic fields.

On December 7, Hu Chunhua, Vice Premier of the State Council and leader of the Chinese side of the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, spoke by telephone with Rishi Sunak, British Chancellor of the Exchequer and leader of the British Dialogue. The two sides agreed to relaunch the 11th UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue in 2022. China-UK cooperation in low-carbon and green finance will also prosper in new opportunities for development.

In this context, the Green Economy International Symposium on Low-Carbon Cooperation and Green Finance is co-hosted by the CDP Global Environmental Information Research Centre and the UK PACT. Themed "Green Finance and Low-Carbon Cooperation to Help China and the UK Carbon Neutrality Goal", the seminar will focus on the achievements and prospects of China-UK low-carbon and green finance, and discuss the key cooperation areas and action plans for green finance and low-carbon cooperation to contribute to the "carbon neutrality" goal between China and the UK.

As the thematic undertaking unit of the 2020 and 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), and as the organizer of the 2020 and 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the International Green Economy Association selected the 2022 China-UK Seminar on Low-Carbon Cooperation and Green Finance as an important topic activity to be included in the regular conference activities of CIFTIS. The meeting is scheduled to be held online at 15:00 p.m. on January 7, 2022 in the China International Fair for Trade in Services Cloud Conference Room, and will be broadcast live on the official website of CIFTIS and APP.
